The saying goes “there’s no place like home”. And for those of us living in Columbus, Ohio, it couldn’t be closer to the truth. There’s just something special about this city. Maybe it’s our nickname, “The biggest small town in America”. Or maybe it’s the fact that we dominate the fashion world, we’re ranked as one the happiest cities, and we’re considered the #1 startup city in America?!
We’re also ranked as the 3rd BEST city to have Thanksgiving in AND Guy Fieri was even born here.
Sweet.
I’ll take it.
If you ask me, what makes Columbus so amazing is our love of community. We’ve turned supporting local Columbus creatives, businesses, and artisans into an art form. I’ve spoken with a few local Columbus restauranteurs and they’ve all mentioned how different our community is and given the choice between opening their restaurant in another city vs here, there was absolutely no contest. These owners realized the power of community and the magic that happens when we all support one another. As the saying goes, a rising tide raises all ships. And you can’t find a community more dedicated to supporting local.
In that spirit, I hope you’ll follow along as I support local Columbus, Ohio bloggers and give these ladies some love.

I’ve known Julie, from What Should We Do Today, Columbus?, for years and years and years.
Fun fact, the first time I met her, at a mutual friend’s house for dinner, I watched in awe as she tied her scarf around her neck using a technique I’d never seen before. She folded her scarf in half, put it on her neck, looped the open end through, and pulled tight. GENIUS! Way better than my technique of just wrapping and wrapping and wrapping the scarf around my neck like a mummy.
Today, she continues to share her wisdom with the masses with her gift guide of tried and true gift ideas for young boys.
Ashley, from CBUS for kids, has three of the sweetest girls you’ve ever met. My little one can be a bit shy at first, and at a recent princess party, Ashley’s sweet daughter marched right up to her and said “Hi, can we be friends?” It was one of the nicest things I’d ever seen! Ashley also makes a killer gluten free cookie!
Today, she shares with us her gift guide for adventurous kids!
Lindsay, from Find Where You Fit is amazing. She’s full of energy and loves to share her light with the world. She inspires me to be a better mom with gentle reminders like “let’s stop the glorification of busy” and always gets me obsessed with every studio or fitness routine that she introduces me to. The best hip hop in Columbus for $4 a class!?! The world’s best trainers at my FAVORITE gym? All new obsessions thanks to this girl.
Today, she shares her gift guide for active kids
Kim, from Wear Love Wanders is a phenomenal photographer. The first time I met her, we were trying out a new fitness class together and as soon as she started talking, I knew we’d become friends. She’s kind, talented, and made me laugh throughout the entire fitness class. There’s absolutely no one else I’d rather “mini pulse” my squats next to.
Today, she’s sharing her guide to finding the best Christmas tees for kids and mom.
Eryn, from 614Mom. She’s all about supporting moms in their own mission and is the genius behind the Columbus Moms Blogger community. If it hadn’t been for her, I wouldn’t have met all these lovely women. She’s a creative genius and has an abundance of good ideas.
Today she’s sharing the importance of gifting experiences over things.

Kathleen, from Just Keep It Simple Fitness, is pretty amazing. Besides creating a KICK ASS workout program that I was able to follow along with AND LOSE WEIGHT FROM (it’s been like 6 months and I’ve kept the weight off, too, holler!) she also has this way of keeping it real. She openly shares wins and losses and has such an inspiring Instagram account. I love how she keeps me accountable to my fitness and I always make sure I sit near her during group fitness classes because dang, she has proper form DOWN.
Today, she’s sharing her guide to 75 health and fitness gifts for the fitness fanatic in your life!
Katie, from Zen Life and Travel is my girl. She’s got style, she’s got Zen, AND she’s a fellow travel hacker!
She’s the cool kid that I wish I could be when I grow up. It’s always so much fun to get together with her because it often feels like we have our own language. We refer to cities by their airport codes, talk nonstop about redemptions and resort categories, and eagerly pull out all 239802893 credit cards in our wallet to talk about the newest deals.
True story, when I read her guide, I pretty much just about died laughing. I’ve got everything on her list except for #5.
Today, she’s sharing her guide to the coolest gift ideas for travel lovers.
And finally, Alison, from Radiance Reflected. I’ll be honest and say while I haven’t met Alison in person yet, I’ve loved reading her blog. She keeps it real. She talks about dealing with chronic pain and insomnia. And she wrote an article titled “Working out for the Apathetic” so I’m pretty sure we’ll be insta-friends when we finally get to meet!
Today’s she’s sharing her guide to throwing a holiday party.
